Academic letters awarded based upon grades earned during the 2023-24 school year were announced last week. The criteria to receive a letter is: students must be listed on the High Honor Roll for two consecutive semesters, be enrolled in at least five classes and not receive an F. Students who were in grades 9-12 for 2023-24 were eligible for the awards.

This Thursday, Aug. 29, in conjunction with the Eureka Junior/Senior High School water and sports drink scrimmages, State Farm Insurance – JJ Edwards will partner with Safe Kids Kansas and Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) for a safety message. Staff members will be on the west side of McGinnis Field beginning at 4:30 p.m., as patrons make their way to the scrimmages.

With hopes of serving the Eureka community more, the Eureka United Methodist Church (EUMC) has expanded services and activities.

Labor Day weekend, the unofficial end of summer, is here. I’m afraid the heat has come back though. I really am ready for Fall/ Autumn, whatever you want to call the season that follows summer.
