Area churches have planned events to observe the celebration of the birth of Christ this holiday season. The public is invited to attend the church or churches of their choice and hear the Christmas story as it is related through scripture. All are welcome to attend services. Those attending do not have to be a member of any of the churches.
Eureka UMC
(521 N. Main St., Eureka)
All are welcome to the First United Methodist Church of Eureka as they celebrate the Christ Child with two special church services. On Sunday, Dec. 15, at 9:30 a.m. ‘Kid’s Club’ members will perform for the congregation. Coffee time will follow in Fellowship Hall.
On Thursday, Dec. 19 welcomes community members to the bi-monthly ‘Community Sing’ event. Community Sing is held on the first and third Thursdays of each month. The Dec. 19 community sing will focus on Christmas Carols.
On Tuesday, Dec. 24 at 6 p.m. a beautiful Christmas Eve Candlelight service will be held with special music from the choir.
Jefferson Street Baptist Church
(300 S. Jefferson Street, Eureka) The Jefferson Street Baptist Church invites all to join their congregation in celebrating the Christmas season.
The church will host their Christmas Eve service on Tuesday, Dec. 24. The evening, featuring a candlelight service and Lord’s Supper, will begin at 6 p.m.
Neal Evangelical Free Church (1595 AA Road, Neal)
The Neal Evangelical Free Church welcomes everyone to share in our joy as we celebrate the birth of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
Sunday, Dec. 15: 9:30 a.m. Christmas Brunch served in Fellowship Hall; 10 a.m. Christmas Program, “Were You There?” featuring music from the adult and children’s choirs and drama by various children and adults of the congregation.
Sunday, Dec. 22: 10 a.m. Regular Advent Morning Worship; 5 p.m. Christmas Caroling, participants will meet at the Church to go Christmas caroling and deliver fruit baskets; a Soup Supper will be held at the Church Immediately following caroling.
Tuesday, Dec. 24: 7 p.m. Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion.
