Road and Bridge Supervisor Allen Greenwood reported to Greenwood County Commissioners during their weekly meeting that the Short bridge, located at 255th Street and U Road, will close Tuesday, Sept. 3 for scheduled work. This is anticipated to be completed in mid-February.
High School Football To Participate In Jamboree On Friday
The Greenwood County 4-H Livestock Sweepstakes Team traveled to Kansas State University on Aug. 17 and 18 to compete in the State Livestock Judging, Meat Judging, Livestock Skill-a-thon and Livestock Quiz Bowl. Team members were Lyle Perrier, Cody Johnson, Addison Westerman, Hannah Perrier, Cort Decker, Sydney Lindamood, Henry Perrier, Jorja Beeman and Henry Lindamood.

Rehabilitation work in regards to the town’s water tower has been an ongoing subject of discussion for the Hamilton City Council.
Another week has gone by and is in the books. School starts this week in many places; some started last week. Is it just me, or are schools starting earlier in the year? I think we didn’t start school until the last week of August and usually started on a Thursday.
