Toronto News

I went up to the gym Saturday to take pictures of Santa and all the kids. After taking a couple pic-tures, Santa says, “Come on over and sit down Kathy!” I went over there after being told I would get a sack of candy and sat down. Santa then asked, “How have you been, I haven’t seen you in awhile?”

I told him I was doing okay, all while being totally baffled, how did Santa know my name? He then pointed out his wife and I knew then, it was indeed, Santa!

There was a really good turnout of kids to see Santa and people out seeing what all kinds of goodies were available. There were gifts available for kids to pick out for their parents or siblings and a table where they could make their own ornaments! Lots of fun for all.

What is “Hurkel-Durkle?” Hello to all in area nursing and assisted living facilities. Hello also to all in area hospitals and rehab centers.

We offer our sympathy to the family of Rex Waggy who passed away recently. We offer our sympathy to all others who lost loved ones this past week. May they all rest in peace.

Our oldest resident, Stanley Curtis, just turned 98. We wish him many more happy years.

Answer: This Scottish term means “to lie in bed or lounge about when one should be up and about.” I think I have a new favorite term, how about you? It’s hurkel-durkel time!

After the paper came out last week, I was quickly notified about the gun shots that I had been hearing and wondering about what was being shot and was informed that duck and geese were currently in season as well as firearm deer season that started last Wednesday.

I didn’t know about the fowl that were in season, but it’s funny, after firearm deer season opened I didn’t hear any more gun shots!

People are busy this time of year with company coming or going somewhere to see relatives and friends and that is awesome. But, and this is a big BUT, do not post on social media that you are going somewhere until you are back home.
