Keeping with tradition, the sixth graders at Marshall Elementary School, in Eureka, hosted a special Veterans Day Assembly last Friday, November 10.

Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ: TSCO), the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States, announced recently it has completed the remodel of its Eureka store location. The company acquired the store, previously an Orscheln Farm & Home location, in October 2022.

A Eureka woman was recognized last Thursday as the November Community Member of the Month for her efforts within the Eureka community.

Former Eureka resident Corporal John Mock was featured on PBS on Saturday, November 11, during the special Veterans Coming Home Salute 2023. Mock was presented the Herb Duncan “Can Do Attitude” Distinguished Veteran Award.

Officials of the Kansas Historical Society visited the Greenwood County Historical Society on Monday, October 30. Patrick Zollner, Executive Director, was joined by two other Society representatives, Ashley Wunder and Kim Korber. During the afternoon, the group shared updates from the State, toured the museum, enjoyed a school district presentation, learned about the society’s history, heard updates on local initiatives and had an opportunity to visit at a reception with board members, local officials and others.

The Annual Holiday Happenings program sponsored by Greenwood County/ KSU Extension and Community Benefit Unit will be held Thursday, November 16. The informative free program will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Eureka United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

The Kansas Department of Transportation announces approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place October 18, in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.
