Organizers of “The Senior Soup Social” held their first meal Friday, October 13, with 16 Eureka area residents in attendance.
Over the weekend, the community gathered for various events in Eureka as several activities were held in conjunction with the annual Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Day event.
The Greenwood County Cattlemen’s weekend came to a close on Sunday, November 5, with the Top Hand Dummy Roping and Ranch Rodeo at the Eureka Saddle Club arena.
The Salt Springs Township will hold an auditor’s meeting on Thursday, November 16 from 6:30-7 p.m. This will be held at the Fall River Community Building.
This Friday and Saturday, November 10 and 11, Eureka High School students will be performing Clue On Stage. The play will begin at 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday, in the EHS auditorium. The play is directed by Shawn Gamache.
A total of 231 dogs ran braces during the German Shorthair Pointer Club of America (GSPCA) National Field Trials that were held at Bechtle Ranch last month. The event was the 70th annual event for GSPCA, with this being the 36th year for the event to be held in Greenwood County.
This Saturday, November 11, marks the 19th anniversary of the annual Eureka Craft Show. The event began in 2004 with friends Charlene Baker and Joy Broyles starting the Eureka Arts & Crafts Show and brought business and people to Eureka for the annual event.
Received Update On Bathroom Facilities At Lion’s Park
Eureka Fire Department was one of 78 departments in Kansas that were awarded funding through the Kansas Firefighter Recruitment and Safety Grant (KSFRSG) Program administered by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM). Eureka Fire Department was awarded $6,226 to be used for the purchase of personal protective equipment.
