Eureka’s junior high basketball teams hosted Fredonia last Monday, December 11, winning three of their four matchups.
The Eureka High School boys earned their first win of the season Friday night with a 46-32 victory over the Flinthills Mustangs in Eureka. This was the first home game of the year for the Tornadoes and they played their best game of the young season so far.
As a top-ten year-end money earner in the tiedown calf roping permit standings within the Professional Rodeo Cowboys of America (PRCA) Association, Cash Fuesz participated in the Permit Finals held in Waco, Texas, in October. Finishing this event in the top five, allowed him a birth into the Permit Challenge of the Year held at the Southpoint Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev., on December 7.
Madison traveled to Waverly on Tuesday, December 12, where both the boys and girls basketball teams walked away with wins.
Members of the Eureka High School boys wrestling team traveled to Hoisington last Friday for the 2023 Corner Classic.
West Elk hosted Neodesha last Tuesday, December 12.
The West Elk Patriots traveled to Marion last Friday for a duals tournament.
Multiple Bulldog Football players were named to the eight man-1 all-district football teams. “We are very proud of our Bulldogs who were selected for this list, as many of the coming all state picks for this year will come from our district,” shared Bulldog head coach Nathan Teichgraeber. District 2 is home to this year’s state champions, two sub-state teams and three teams that participated in 8M-1 quarterfinal action.
Last Saturday, December 9, the Eureka Tornado Junior High Basketball teams hosted an A-team tournament with Eureka, Olpe, Douglass and Yates Center all competing.
