Madison traveled to Waverly on Tuesday, December 12, where both the boys and girls basketball teams walked away with wins.
Colton Isch and Lane Darbro helped kick things off for the Bulldogs in the first quarter, scoring 10 and 6 points respectively. They each ended the game with 19 points under their belts and were recognized as top performers.
The Bulldogs held Waverly to just 5 points in the first and ended the half up 25-14.
In the third quarter, Madison’s defense held Waverly to just two points. Meanwhile, their offense combined for 18 points with the help of Isch’s third three-pointer of the night.
Waverly attempted a fourth-quarter comeback, sinking three three-pointers and combining for 18 points, but it would not be enough to beat the Bulldogs. The final score was Madison 49, Waverly 34.

On the girls’ side, Madison started off with a strong start by Lily Hudson, sinking two three-pointers in the first quarter and a combined 13 points to Waverly’s 7. They expanded their lead in the second quarter, adding 16 points and two more threepoint shots by Candice Ashlock and Brooke Gaines. They finished the first half leading 29-14.
Madison’s Jalynn Weakley had a stand-out third quarter, scoring 12 of the team’s 18 points, while defense was able to hold Waverly to just 4 points. Hudson added her third three-pointer of the game in the fourth quarter and the Lady Bulldogs were able to end the game on top, 58-20.

Madison traveled to Marais des Cygnes Valley on Friday and will resume action in Burlingame on January 5, at 5 p.m.
