Last Saturday, December 9, the Eureka Tornado Junior High Basketball teams hosted an A-team tournament with Eureka, Olpe, Douglass and Yates Center all competing.
In the girls division, Eureka faced Yates Center in the opening game, winning 23-11 to advance to the championship. In the second game, Olpe defeated Douglass, 36-6. In the consolation finals, Douglass defeated Yates Center 15-3. The Lady Tornadoes fell to Olpe in the championship, 8-35.
In the boys division, the Tornadoes fell to Yates Center 28-44 in the opening game. Olpe defeated Douglass, 36-20, in the second and advanced to the championship. Eureka faced Douglass in the consolation finals, where they fell 7-35. Olpe also claimed the championship in the boys division, as they defeated Yates Center, 27-25.
