Greenwood County History

J.R. Farmer came to Greenwood County in 1923 as the Greenwood County Agricultural Agent after graduating from Kansas State University. He held that position until 1938 when he took a job as a conservation contractor. During the time he was the Ag Agent, he took hundreds of pictures of agricultural and 4-H activities related to Greenwood County. The pictures and captions in this article are but a few that the Greenwood County Museum has for viewing. If you are interested in seeing more of the J.R. Addison Westerman recently competed at the Kansas State Fair on September 8-10, in Hutchinson. 4-H and FFA members from across the state of Kansas exhibited all species of livestock to showcase their projects from this year. JH Tornadoes Struggled Against Humboldt

The Eureka Junior High Tornado football team lost to the Humboldt Cubs 6-50 Thursday night at home. The Tornadoes were never really in the game, as the Cubs returned the opening kick-off for a touchdown.
