Westerman Won Reserve Champion Charolais Composite Heifer At Kansas State Fair

Addison Westerman recently competed at the Kansas State Fair on September 8-10, in Hutchinson. 4-H and FFA members from across the state of Kansas exhibited all species of livestock to showcase their projects from this year. Westerman is a sophomore at Eureka Junior/Senior High School and is a member of both the Eureka FFA Chapter and the Racing Wranglers 4-H Club.

Addison Westerman recently competed at the Kansas State Fair on September 8-10, in Hutchinson. 4-H and FFA members from across the state of Kansas exhibited all species of livestock to showcase their projects from this year. Westerman is a sophomore at Eureka Junior/Senior High School and is a member of both the Eureka FFA Chapter and the Racing Wranglers 4-H Club.

During the Beef Showmanship contest on Friday evening, approximately 110 senior beef showmen competed in 11 heats for top honors. The contest was judged by Greg and Pearl Walthall of Windsor, Mo. Westerman made it to the Semifinal Round.

The 4-H and FFA members that displayed their heifers during the fair exhibited them in front of Judge Tyler Winegardner of Harrod, Ohio on Sunday, September 10. He sorted through 18 different breeds with a grand total of 251 heifers. Westerman exhibited a May 20, 2022 Charolais Composite heifer named GLC Katie 102K. She won a buckle sponsored by Double C Ranch---Spencer and Alyssa Crowther.

Up next for Westerman and her heifer will be the upcoming Kansas Junior Livestock Show also held in Hutchinson, on September 29-October 1.

Westerman is the daughter of Luke and Mindy Westerman of Eureka and the granddaughter of Harold and Mary Ellen Kline of Eureka and Daryl and Judy Westerman of Piqua.
