The September meeting of the Madison Recreation Commission (MRC) was called to order at 6:05 p.m. on September 20, by Jason Albert. Roll call was answered by Ty Gaines, Dylan Barnard and Jenn Boles. Also present was Paul Dean.

The annual Kansas State Fair was held earlier this month, with several results being released. Additional results, including livestock, will be shared at a later date.
The annual Life Chain will be held on Sunday, October 1, from 1 to 2 p.m. at the corner of River and Main Streets in Eureka. Life chains will be taking place in communities across the USA with individuals standing to witness their respect for human life and the unborn child.
Ten area youth will represent Greenwood County this weekend as they travel to Wakarusa, for the State 4-H Archery event, on Saturday, September 30.
