On Dec. 6, 2023, at the Sauder Center in Madison, the Madison Pacesetters celebrated the holiday season with their annual Christmas meeting and party. The roll call question for the meeting was, “What did you ask Santa for this year?” It was answered by 32 members, one cloverbud, and two leaders.

Every year, it is tradition for the December meeting program, the Madison Pacesetters go caroling for the members of the Madison Community who support them throughout the year. The Madison Pacesetters made seven stops this year and had a lot of fun serenading club supporters.

During the meeting, Vice President Lane Darbro gave the club a Greenwood County Council update. At the last meeting, he shared that the council elected new officers for the 20242025 term.

Reporter Brooke Gaines informed the club that the Greenwood County 4-H ambassadors are discussing potential educational opportunities for the students of Greenwood County.

Ty Gaines gave the leader’s report. T. Gaines started by congratulating the county record book and officer book winners. He notified the club that County Club Days is approaching fast, so members need to sign up as soon as possible and that there will be a model meeting practice at 6:30 p.m. before the regular meeting in February. T. Gaines explained that sign-up for the Junk In The Bucket project is open and will be completed on Sign-Up Genius this year. Finally, he wanted to remind the club to read their monthly newsletter.

Important upcoming dates are: Jan. 5 is the closing of returning member enrollment, Jan. 6-10 is the Kansas Beef Expo, Jan. 12 is the free K-State Women’s Basketball Game for 4-H members, and State record books are due Jan. 15.
