The week of April 22 the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) expects to start a mudjacking project that includes various locations in Allen, Bourbon, Coffey, Franklin, Greenwood, Labette, Miami, Neosho, Osage and Wilson counties.

Here it is, the last full week of April. Only six days until May 1. Did you do something good for our planet Monday? It was Earth Day. I saw a very fitting t-shirt for the day: “Leave behind only your footprints, not trash!” Such a simple little request, yet so many fail to respond accordingly. I also saw on TV that our national parks have signs everywhere, especially on hiking trails, pertaining to trash. If you take something in with you, make sure it leaves with you.

The Greenwood County 4-H Meat Judging Teams traveled to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday, April 13, to compete in the 2024 Midwest Invitational Meat Judging Contest. The contest was attended by teams from Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. The Senior Team, consisting of Hannah Perrier, Addison Westerman and Cort Decker, placed 3rd in the overall contest with Hannah Perrier individually placing 9th overall.
