Commissioner Elects To Be On The November General Election Ballot

A mere 17% of registered voters in Greenwood County went to the polls for the August primary on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

A mere 17% of registered voters in Greenwood County went to the polls for the August primary on Tuesday, Aug. 6.

The majority of the ballot was unopposed; however, voters were able to cast ballots for various state, county and township offices.

In the Republican primary election, Greenwood County voters voted for new faces to join the five-person commission.

In District 3, Judd Everitt received 145 votes and Ben Fox received 64.

In District 5, Ron Mast received 94 votes and Paul Hodge received 62.

No Democratic candidates filed for election for those positions and Everitt and Mast will appear unopposed on the November General Election ballot.

Other races were uncontested. (Write-in votes were not available at the time of publication.) The Greenwood County Commissioners will canvass the ballots during their weekly meeting next Monday, Aug. 19.
