2x7.25=$105.13 I don’t know why I ever felt like summer was the best time of year. Although, I guess we are technically still in summer, that is until Saturday, when Autumn begins. These past few days have been amazing! Warm enough to not need the heater and cool enough to not need the AC. Can it be any better than that?

J.R. Farmer came to Greenwood County in 1923 as the Greenwood County Agricultural Agent after graduating from Kansas State University. He held that position until 1938 when he took a job as a conservation contractor. During the time he was the Ag Agent, he took hundreds of pictures of agricultural and 4-H activities related to Greenwood County. The pictures and captions in this article are but a few that the Greenwood County Museum has for viewing. If you are interested in seeing more of the J.R. Addison Westerman recently competed at the Kansas State Fair on September 8-10, in Hutchinson. 4-H and FFA members from across the state of Kansas exhibited all species of livestock to showcase their projects from this year. Westerman is a sophomore at Eureka Junior/Senior High School and is a member of both the Eureka FFA Chapter and the Racing Wranglers 4-H Club.
Fall begins slightly after the midpoint of September. The arrival of fall may be met with joy that cooler temperatures and vividly colored leaves will soon be the norm. For others, the arrival of fall is met with some trepidation that shorter days will soon pave the way for less sunlight and the inevitable arrival of winter.

In one of the most significant events in its’ recent history, Fredonia Regional Hospital (FRH) announced that it will be merging with Drs. Morris & Hill Medical Clinic later this year. The transition will take place on November 4, 2023 as FRH welcomes all of Drs. Morris & Hill Medical Clinic’s providers and employees.
On Saturday, September 30, the Eureka Country Club will host the Tornado Classic Golf Tournament for alumni weekend.
