The Top Hand Youth Rodeo Association (THYRA) saw a total of 474 entries during their 2024 opening weekend held June 1-2, with a total of 85 contestants competing.
Twenty members of the Eureka High School class of 1979 gathered together on Saturday, June 1, at TNT Catering in Eureka for their 45th class reunion.
Greenwood County’s Lyle Perrier was recently named the Kansas 4-H Project Award winner with his 4-H Beef project book. His recognized work was accomplished during the 2022-23 4-H program year. In order to get to this point, Perrier had to first advance past the local Greenwood County 4-H record book screening. From there, he advanced on from the Southeast Area Regional Screening to the Kansas 4-H State Screening. Every 4-H Project had a winner named, with those individual 4-Hers being recognized at the Kansas 4-H Foundation Emerald Circle recognition event, held during Kansas 4-H Discovery Days, in the K-State Student Union on Thursday, June 6.
TOPEKA - The Kansas State High School Activities Association (KSHSAA) recently shared selected sites for the 2025 KSHSAA state basketball championships. All seven sites have hosted at least once previously.
The Eureka High School honor rolls have been reported for the second semester. Those making the honor rolls are listed below.
Mayor Richard Clark called the May 20 Howard City Council meeting to order at 7:30 pm at the Howard City Building with council members Martin Hunter, Gary Harrod, Derek Cookson and Jerrad Pope were present. Council member Shilo Crupper was absent. Also present was Shannon Nordquist, Kandy Dowell, Cassidy Brenner, Erica Cordell, Chelsie Powell, Evie Hargis and City Clerk Joanna Hunter.
Drawn by memories, many of us made visits to cemeteries over the Memorial Day holiday.
