To Host West Franklin For Homecoming The Tornadoes got back on track in week four against the Bluestem Lions, as the Tornadoes claimed a 30-16 victory.
Friday night was a war of attrition. The Lions’ game plan (to keep the Tornado offense off the field) was effective as they only allowed the Tornadoes to have six possessions total in the game. Quarterback Peyton Hare orchestrated the offense to 4 scoring drives out of the 6 possessions the Tornadoes had. Hare accounted for 140 yards and 3 touchdowns on the night, scoring on the ground from 2 yards out and one from 96 yards. Hare then added one through the air on a well executed scramble drill which ended with se-nior Laken Valentine on the receiving end of a 21yard pass to the end zone. Kalim Mouer continued to be difficult for teams to hold down, delivering a 40 yard touchdown run that effectively was the final nail in the coffin for the Lions. TJ Mills made his presence felt on all sides of the ball averaging 10 yards per carry, 7 solo tackles and a fumble recovery. Mouer also had 7 solo tackles followed up by Hare with 6.
The Tornadoes look to take this momentum into this week against West Franklin, which handed the Tornadoes a tough loss last season. Eureka will host West Franklin for the Homecoming game this Friday, with kick-off slated for 7 p.m.
