WICHITA - More than 2,380 students completed a total of 2,645 degrees and certificates at Wichita State University in spring 2024.
During the regular Road and Bridge report provided at the Monday, July 22 Greenwood County Commission meeting, a bid for work to the bridge at L Road and 110th Street from Ramsey Concrete was presented. Road and Bridge Supervisor Allen Greenwood also shared at this time, that this quote included a note from Ramsey in reference to approaches in need of repair. The note outlined that the cost for needed repair to approaches would be in line with the cost for the L Road project, shared at roughly $15,000. Commissioners approved proceeding with work to L Road and 110th Street. Commissioners noted that future projects pertaining to needed approach work, being planned for various crossings, would be presented individually.

Wrathnak Archery and Range of Eureka was well represented this weekend at the Archer’s Shooting Association (ASA) State tournament at Salthawk Archery Club in Hutchinson.
The June meeting for the Fancy Mustangs 4-H Club was held virtually. Club members sent videos to the Facebook page sharing about their projects that will be in the upcoming Greenwood County Fair, in July.
Emergency Management Director Levi Vinson reported on Monday, July 15, that all Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) pertaining to sirens had been signed by all cities. He will be pinning down the timeline in regards to when the test date for sirens will officially be shifted to the new schedule. Previous plans for shifting siren testing from Monday evenings to Tuesdays at 1 p.m. were shared.
The Eureka Saddle Club had their second Shodeo on Saturday, July 13.
Kansas Department of Transportation announces approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects. The letting took place June 20, 2024, in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.
