Harmony Sunflowers 4-H Club

The Harmony Sunflowers 4-H Club met for their monthly meeting on Nov. 3, at 6 p.m. in the basement of Christ Lutheran Church. Nineteen members, four clover buds and three leaders responded to roll call. The clover buds were released with Laura Wallace to decorate sugar cookies.

Brody Mitchell read last month’s minutes, Cody Johnson gave the treasurer’s report and Adelae Coulter gave the reporter’s report. Reports were given to members on Cattlemen’s Day activities. Chicken Poop BINGO was a success and the club’s float received first place in the parade. The petting zoo was fun for the people downtown to visit. An update on Breakfast with Santa was provided to members. Tickets for the breakfast were passed out for the members to sell before the event. An update on the club’s Christmas party was shared.

In new business, the club voted to move their December meeting to Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. following the club’s Breakfast with Santa. The members also voted to have a gathering for the Christmas party and to do a gift exchange during the party. The club members also voted to adopt children from the Emprise Bank Angel Tree for a community service project.

A ceremony was held to recognize the new officers of the club. During recreation, club members set goals for the upcoming 4-H year. Haidyn Evenson and Duke Coulter led the club in singing “I’ve Got That 4-H Spirit…” Evenson gave a project talk on her goats. Bryce Teter gave a project talk on different types of wood that can be used for woodworking.

After the meeting was adjourned, the members enjoyed sugar cookies, banana splits and punch.

The next meeting will be Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. in the basement of Christ Lutheran Church.
