Four Eureka seniors were recognized last Tuesday, May 7, during the 2024 Tornado awards as they completed Spanish I, II, III and IV.

Governor Requests Extension To File For Major Severe Thunderstorm Disaster Declaration
Governor Laura Kelly has sent a letter to FEMA asking for an extension to submit a request for a major disaster. The letter asks for an extension to July 29, 2024, to submit for the public assistance program for severe thunderstorms that impacted the state April 25-30, accompanied by large hail, damaging straight linewinds, tornadoes, and tor-rential rainfall resulting in flooding.

EJSHS Students Recognized For Citizenship
Four students at Eureka Junior/Senior High School were honored by receiving citizenship awards during assemblies on Wednesday of last week. Those honored were, seniors Marcus Britain and Abigail Altis and eighth graders Camden Wunderlich and Lylly Stapleford.

Tornado Awards Presented During Annual High School Assembly
The Eureka 2023-24 Tornado Awards Assembly was held last Tuesday, May 7 at Eureka Junior/Senior High School (EJSHS). During the assembly, seniors Annaliese Casper and Lyle Perrier were recognized as “Most Outstanding Girl and Boy of 2024.” The senior sponsors nominated the students for the honor.
