EJSHS Students Recognized For Citizenship

Four students at Eureka Junior/Senior High School were honored by receiving citizenship awards during assemblies on Wednesday of last week. Those honored were, seniors Marcus Britain and Abigail Altis and eighth graders Camden Wunderlich and Lylly Stapleford.

Four students at Eureka Junior/Senior High School were honored by receiving citizenship awards during assemblies on Wednesday of last week. Those honored were, seniors Marcus Britain and Abigail Altis and eighth graders Camden Wunderlich and Lylly Stapleford.

Britain is the son of Dan Britain and Leann Eddings of Eureka.

Altis is the daughter of Kim Altis of Reece and Chad Altis of Toronto.

Wunderlich is the son of Wes and Robin Wunderlich of rural Eureka.

Stapleford is the daughter of Doug and Sonya Stapleford of Toronto.

The criteria and guidelines to receive the Citizenship awards are as follows: Respect: Shows respect at all times for the Constitution and those who serve in an effort to sustain freedom; Shows respect for the students and the citizens of the school and community; Respects both public and private property; Shows respect for the student and adult leaders in the school and community; Demonstrates a tolerance and respect for the beliefs and rights of others.

Responsibility: Demonstrates the willingness to assume citizenship responsibilities in school and the community; Works to build school pride through active participation in projects that publicize, honor or beautify the school; Displays good sportsmanship whether as a participant or spectator; Is friendly and inclusive with new students and encourages them to become involved in school activities.

Reverence: Shows reverence, concern and respect for the wellbeing of others.
