Annual Cattlemen’s Day Event Held

Over the weekend, the community gathered for various events in Eureka as several activities were held in conjunction with the annual Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Day event.

Over the weekend, the community gathered for various events in Eureka as several activities were held in conjunction with the annual Greenwood County Cattlemen’s Day event.

In it’s inaugural year was the Steak Cook-Off where three participants competed. Winning the contest was Blayne Puckett. Winners for the annual parade were as follows: 4-H Floats- Harmony Sunflowers, 1st place; All Scout Groups- Girl Scouts; School Floats-Eureka FFA, 1st place; Hamilton FFA, 2nd place; Non-Profit Organizations- Eureka Archery, 1st place; Honor Flight, 2nd place; Commercial Floats- TNT Catering, 1st place; Ditchside Herbicide, 2nd place; Farm and Ranch- Lindamood Ranch; Horse and Riders-Oldest Rider- Carol Ottizer; Youngest Rider- Buster Bogle, age 5; Most Attractive Horse and Rider- Top Rand; Buggies and Wagons-Tressie and CD Gulick, 1st place; John Vogt, 2nd place.
