Dogs have been faithful companions to humans for hundreds of years. Dog owners know their canine companions can be friendly, affectionate and entertaining. Dogs also are quite intelligent and can perform various jobs that help them stay focused and healthy.
The Eureka Recreation Commission (ERC) approved an agreement with the Eureka Country Club last Tuesday, September 26, during their routine monthly meeting.
The Toronto High School Alumni is celebrating their 114th Reunion this year on Saturday, October 7. This yearly celebration was formally changed last year from an evening banquet and dance on the Saturday before Easter to a luncheon on the first Saturday of October. Also, Alumni members are able to bring their family. Special guests who attended Toronto Schools are also welcome to attend. This year’s meal will be catered by TNT Catering from Eureka. There is a fee per meal as well as dues still being relatively low. See related ad elsewhere in this week’s edition. Reservations are encouraged, but not necessary. The East Central Kansas Model T-Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, October 12, in the conference room of the Burlington Library. The library is located on Highway 75 in Burlington. The Greenwood County 4-H Meat Judging Team traveled to Garden City on Sunday, September 24, to compete in the 2023 Beef Empire Days Invitational Meat Judging Contest.
The Top Hand Youth Rodeo finished their youth rodeo series with a Finals Weekend Rodeo, Banquet and Team Ropjng on September 30-October 1 at the Eureka Saddle Club Arena.
