Former Eureka resident Jeannette L. Carter recently published a book entitled, “Last Night I Did What?: Humorous Stories for Baby Boomers.”

Published through Author’s Voice publications on Jan. 8, Carter’s book is a collection of humorous stories centered around her observation of day-today life.

Stories within the 82-page book began as Facebook posts and are now available to read on Kindle format.

Tales in the collection include humorous short stories in relation to the difficulties of technology and social media. One such story tells of the continued receipt of “promotional” content, following an online job listing search for available positions in Eureka. “I discovered that Eureka not only needs submarine operators but repairmen for the submarines,” reads a line within the book.

Carter also writes about the woes of appliance failure. As she describes the failing reliability of her washer and dryer and their need for replacement, Carter wrote the following, “And if I throw clothes into the washing machine before I go to bed, will I have nightmares about being in a shootout in Dodge?”

Carter’s book is available for purchase for Kindle on Amazon and Good Reads.
