Seven teams teed off for a cool and windy round of golf on Wednesday, April 10 at the Eureka Country Club.

This Saturday, April 20, the Eureka High School golf teams will host the second annual Tornado Classic, a four-person scramble golf tournament at the Eureka Country Club.
The Eureka Tornadoes baseball and softball teams hosted the Bullpups of Caney last Tuesday, April 2 for two games. The Tornadoes tallied 8 hits combined, but didn’t pull off a victory against the Bullpups.
Tuesday, April 2, members of the Eureka Jr High Track Team participated at home, claiming hardware in various events. Three Tornado athletes also claimed school records.
Tornado Junior Varsity golf traveled to Fort Scott on Thursday, April 4 for the Uniontown tournament. Participating for Eureka were: Easton Mead, 54; Jonah Werner, 57 and John Noll with 63 strokes.
The Eureka High School track and field team hosted their home invitational Thursday, April 4, with multiple athletes claiming hardware.
On Monday, March 25, the West Elk Patriot baseball team hosted their season opener against Oxford. To kick off the game, former West Elk Baseball Coach Dana Taliaferro threw the ceremonial first pitch. Following the pitch, a special announcement was made by West Elk Assistant Principal Chris Haag, “Coach, we are not quite finished and would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all that you have done for West Elk. Coach Taliaferro has been a tremendous teacher, athletic director and coach for many years. His commitment to his peers, students and players was demonstrated for over four decades at West Elk.
Eureka varsity golf kicked off their season on Monday, March 25 with a cool and breezy 18-hole tournament in Caney.
