National Annual Report Ranks Kansas With High Performance In Emergency Preparedness For Fifth Year
TOPEKA – Kansas earnedaHigh-Performance Tier ranking recently in the Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) Ready or Not Annual Report due to the work of the Kansas Department of Health and Environment’s (KDHE) Emergency Preparedness program. Ready or Not 2024: Protecting the Public’s Health from Diseases, Disasters, and Bioterrorism measures states’ readiness to respond to a spectrum of health emergencies and to provide ongoing public health services.

Eureka Music Club Held March Meeting
Sixteen members met for a Eureka Music Club business meeting and program at Christ Lutheran Church on Monday, March 11. Carolyn Perrier and Sheryl Moody served as co-hostesses. Robin Himes, co-president, conducted the monthly business meeting.

The March 18 meeting of the Howard City Council was called to order by Mayor Richard Clark at 7:30 p.m. with council members Martin Hunter, Shilo Crupper, Derek Cookson and Gary Harrod present. Also present was Joanna Hunter. Council member Jerrad Pope was absent.

Driven To Want What Others Have - Clint Decker CLAY CENTER - “Picture it in your mind.” That is what I was taught when I attended a conference soon after graduating from high school. It was to help teach me about goal setting and achieving success like I had read about in books. I wanted to be a famous, accomplished and wealthy businessman. Going down to the new car lot I thought would help. There I found the car of my dreams and visualized myself in the driver seat. Furthermore, on a piece of paper I wrote down how, “I want to succeed so I can have money to buy my dream car.”

East Central Kansas Model T’s Celebrate 30th Anniversary
The East Central Kansas Model T’s will celebrate their 30th Anniversary on Saturday, April 13. They will meet at Kelly Hall on the Fairgrounds in Burlington, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the celebration, meeting and catered meal. The meal, catered by Big B’s BBQ, will include a main entre’, vegetables, dessert and drinks. There will be no need to bring a side dish. Attendees are encouraged to wear period clothing. Depending on the weather that day, drive your model T as there may be an impromptu short tour/drive around town. Additional activities led by members are to be announced.
