Howard City Council

The March 18 meeting of the Howard City Council was called to order by Mayor Richard Clark at 7:30 p.m. with council members Martin Hunter, Shilo Crupper, Derek Cookson and Gary Harrod present. Also present was Joanna Hunter. Council member Jerrad Pope was absent.

The council approved the following as presented: March 4 minutes; city bills totaling $9,195.87; payment #7 of State water project loans, $104,067.79 due April 1; Security Camera installation; 2024 revisions to the Uniform Personnel Policy of the City of Howard; and to pay KPERS benefits for the Library Director. All were approved 4-0.

The council accepted the suggestion from Pool Manager Lynnette Kill that all 2024 pool open days be $100 to sponsor free swim, except for the Independence Day party which will take several sponsors to cover the costs of food and prizes.

Other discussions included: Street barricades tabled; Equipment trailer tabled; Clinic wall; Tennis court; Library personnel; Generator relocation; Playground surface grant still waiting on State; and Sidewalk repair possibilities.

The meeting adjourned at 8:27 p.m. The council also held a meeting on April 1.

Their next scheduled meeting is Monday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m., at city hall.
