Mayor Richard Clark called the November 20 Howard City Council meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. with council members Martin Hunter, Erica Cordell, Gary Harrod and Derek Cookson present. Also present was Joanna Hunter. Council member Jerrad Pope was absent.

Members of the Eureka City Council convened on Friday, December 8 for a special meeting to afford for the interview of City Administrator applicant, Edward Patton. After introductions were made to city officials, an executive session was held for the duration of 30 minutes, with City Clerk Renee Burk also in attendance. Following an additional 10 minutes with the same individuals remaining, appreciation was voiced to Patton for his interest in the position.
