Four-Day Jury Trial Returned Not Guilty Verdict For Wallace
Tears of relief came over William D. “Bill” Wallace’s oldest daughter and mother as a “Not Guilty” verdict was read by Judge Jan Satterfield and Wallace pointed to the sky, last Friday, May 25. The not guilty verdict came after three full days of testimony were delivered during the jury trial where Wallace appeared before Judge Satterfield for two counts; Count 1 Rape, offender 18 or older and victim less than 14 years of age and Count 2, Aggravated criminal sodomy, offender 18 or older and child less than 14. Both counts are off-grid person felonies. The second count was dismissed before the closing statements and jury instructions were provided. 05/28/2024 03:00 AM

EHS Class Of 1974 To Hold 50-Year Reunion
The Eureka High School graduating class of 1974 will be celebrating their 50-year reunion on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1. The classes of 1973 and 1975 are welcome to attend, as well as any teachers that taught the class. On Friday, the class will meet at Melinda and Lonnie Nichols’ residence at 404 N. Adams at 5 p.m. A Mexican fiesta dinner is being catered/served at 6 p.m. A fee will be charged per plate (single/couple).
