Eureka Music Club Held May Meeting

The Eureka Music Club met Monday, May 13, at the Madison First United Methodist Church, with 15 members present.

Co-president Robin Himes conducted the business meeting.

Joyce Saunders and Leanne McKee, Cochairmen, presented the program, “Favorites.” The program began with, “My Favorite Things,” sung by McKee. Pat Surber sang, “Make Believe,” followed by, “Eidelwiess,” played by Margaret Spires. Saunders shared a framed Eidelwiess flower with the club. Saunders then sang, “A White Sport Coat,” and Spires accompanied her on the piano. Mary Ellen Forbes sang, “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again,” while also playing the piano. Carolyn Perrier performed a piano solo, “Let There Be Peace On Earth.” A song cycle entitled, “Celestial Dreams” was presented by Grace Stacy on the piano. Cheryl Moody played, “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on the piano.

The meeting ended with a sing along of “April Showers.”

Refreshments were served by Jean Edwards and Rise Russin. The club will recess for the summer and reconvene in September with an organizational meeting at the Christ Lutheran Church in Eureka.
