Law enforcement officers in three counties worked together over the weekend to locate a Reno County couple.
Two Eureka USD 389 board of education members were recognized on Monday, December 11, as they concluded their term of service. Brent Torrey served the board for 12 years and Judd Everitt served Eureka USD 389 for four years. Both were presented a plaque that read, “It’s in recognition of outstanding service as a USD 389 board member. Thank you for your dedicated leadership in public education and continuing service to the children of USD 389.”
On Monday, December 18, from 1 to 6 p.m., the American Red Cross will have a blood drive at the Cox Community Building in Howard.
The Verdigris Valley Foundation will be serving a biscuit and gravy breakfast on Saturday, December 16 at the Madison Sauder Center from 8 to 10 a.m. Proceeds from this event support the operation of the Center and projects for the community.
MANHATTAN – Twenty-four Kansas 4-H members have been chosen to have their awardwinning photograph displayed on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan. Among the list was Greenwood County’s Lylly Stapleford of the Fancy Mustangs 4-H Club.
Eureka Junior/Senior High School junior Natalynn Gulick will be hosting “The Nutcracker Dance Camp” on Wednesday and Thursday, December 20 and 21, at Memorial Hall, in Eureka.
Members of the Elk County Wrestling Club (ECW) competed at the Kansas Young Guns Shoot Out on Sunday, December 10, where ECW’s Emma Baumgartel placed third in her weight class.
The Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, December 5, at the Greenwood County Hospital basement meeting room. There were 7 members, and no guests present. Roll call was answered by, “What are you doing for Christmas?”
Greenwood County Hospital Auxiliary met for their monthly meeting on December 4 at the Greenwood County Hospital (GWCH) basement for their annual Christmas dinner served by the GWCH kitchen staff. Roll call was taken with 12 members present.
