Expecting parents process a barrage of information as they prepare for the day their child is born. No matter how many details they gather from doctors, their own research and individuals who have blazed parenting paths before them, there are still plenty of things to learn on the job.
Over 100 family members and friends gathered at Koop’s Auto Supply in Howard on Friday, September 1 to celebrate Bill Lanning’s 50 years of service to the Howard Community.
The East Central Kansas Model T Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, in the Conference Room of the Burlington Library. Brad will bring his famous Barbecue.
The Eureka businesswomen met on Tuesday, September 5 at BC Art Studio in Eureka. There were 14 members and one guest present. The guest was Barbara Colangelo, who was the businesswoman of the month and provided the program for the evening.

After a busy week at the fair, the Madison Pacesetter 4-H Club held their August monthly meeting at the Greenwood County Fairgrounds. Members were asked what their favorite part of the fair was. Secretary Makenna Engle reported that 32 members, three cloverbuds and two leaders were present.
What is to be the lease price per acre, or the price per head for grazing steers during the season of 1913? This is a question in Greenwood County that causes the Wilson governmental policy and all other so styled public programs, to pale in comparison. It is generally conceded that grazing is going to come pretty high, but how high? Will it be $1.50, $1.75 or $2 per acre? Is the man who has the pasture going to charge the fellow who has the cattle $6, $7 or $8 per head?
