Intergenerational connections reduce loneliness and boost happiness for older adults. Children develop life skills and a sense of who they are. They can benefit heavily from interactions with previous generations. Children learn through interactions with other people. Humans are social beings, and the more variety of contacts children can have can teach them about themselves. This could be what they like, what they don’t like, and what other people have experienced.
A group of artists are joining forces to host an art show on Friday, Sept. 20 and Saturday, Sept. 21. The event will be held in conjunction with the annual Homecoming Festival and will be held at the Rolling Prairie Exten- sion Office, located at 130 S.
Over the Labor Day holiday weekend, an 80-year-old woman was injured in a UTV accident in rural Eureka.
The following results for the annual Severy Labor Day celebration were shared with The Eureka Herald last week: Parade
During the 2024 Severy Labor Day parade, the Elk County Community Foundation (ECCF) presented checks to three Severy groups. The funds were raised during the 2024 ECCF match event, which ran from May 10 to June 10, and raised over $133,000 in funds. The Patterson Family Foundation provided an additional $70,000 in matching funds, leaving ECCF with over $200,000 to grant out to organizations in Elk County and Severy.
