Tornadoes Competed At Coffeyville JV Mixer

Two freshmen members of the Eureka Tornado high school wrestling team made the trip to Coffeyville last Monday, Dec. 16, for a junior varsity (JV) mixer.

Dash Gulick competed in the boys JV 208-214 weight class. He went 2-1 for the day and placed second. He won a 3-2 decision over Owen White (Independence); won by fall over Esteban Gonzalez (Mc-Donald County) (Fall 1:35); and lost by fall to Alan Grandberry (Coffeyville) (Fall 1:45).

Hunter Swartz competed in the boys JV 172-175 weight division. He lost by fall to James Strausbuagh (Mc-Donald County) (Fall 0:43); lost by fall to Bentley Davis (Cherryvale) (Fall 0:10); and lost a 3-14 major decision to Lliam Blue (Parsons) (Maj 14-3).

The varsity Tornadoes traveled to Hoisington on Friday, Dec. 20. Due to an early press deadline, details will be shared in next week’s edition.

Eureka will resume action on Saturday, Jan 11., at Burlington.
