Governor Laura Kelly announced that Eureka had been awarded $140,000 in federal funding in the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program. The funds will be used to help improve safety and prevent deaths and serious injuries on local roadways.

Portable Corral Eases Workload
The Greenwood Preservation Society (GWPS) announced that, through a grant process, it has been selected by the Emporia Community Foundation (ECF) as one of 35 organizations to be part of its Match Day program. Donations will assist in raising funds to finish restoration of the original rolled steel windows on Eureka’s Memorial Hall building.
A local cowboy was inducted into the Kansas Cowboy Hall of Fame as the Working Cowboy Inductee during the special induction ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023.
The Hamilton City Council wrapped up the year with their final meeting of 2023 on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023. Year-end bills were approved.
