TOPEKA - Washburn University has announced its fall 2023 President’s and Dean’s List honorees.

The Kansas Department of Transportation announces 12 Kansas communities will receive grants to develop plans and support efforts to help build the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program in their areas.

After just a little over a year and a half after she returned to the Eureka area, Kimmy (Gates) Smith, and her husband David, have taken over ownership of the thrift store, located at 1501 E. River Street, in Eureka. Kimmy’s Closet opened earlier this month, after Lisa’s closed.

How many of you all have seen any eagles lately? We see them occasionally between Toronto and Yates Center and between Yates Center and Iola. We saw one coming home from Eureka the other day and nearly every time I go to Fredonia (which has been twice a week lately due to physical therapy) we see 2-3 on either the way down or back.
