Bill trims income tax rates, lowers property tax for schools, ends food sales tax early
The East Central Kansas Model T’s will celebrate their 30th Anniversary on Saturday, April 13. They will meet at Kelly Hall on the Fairgrounds in Burlington, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the celebration, meeting and catered meal. The meal, catered by Big B’s BBQ, will include a main entre’, vegetables, dessert and drinks. There will be no need to bring a side dish. Attendees are encouraged to wear period clothing. Depending on the weather that day, drive your model T as there may be an impromptu short tour/drive around town. Additional activities led by members are to be announced.
Next Wednesday, April 17, students at Hamilton USD 390 will provide a spring concert. The concert will be held in the gymnasium, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Greenwood County was represented at the Sunflower State Spelling Bee, held on March 23, by Eureka Junior Senior High School’s Sadie Seiter.
On Saturday, April 27, Hamilton High School will host their prom. The annual promenade will begin at 6 p.m. at the west entrance at Hamilton Elementary School.
In many parts of the country, April marks a return to warm temperatures, landscapes marked by blooming foliage and perhaps even a colorful flower or two. April also signals tax season, a notion that may elicit different reactions than warmer weather and budding plants, particularly among those who do not anticipate receiving a tax refund.
