Mary “Jane” Junkersfeld, 80, of Eureka, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at home.
Thomas Eugene Tyler, born on March 19, 1953, in Houston, Texas, bid farewell to this world on November 18, 2023, in Eureka.
Larry Paul Lawrence of Eureka, died on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Greenwood County Hospital, in Eureka, at the age of 81. He was born on July 10, 1942, in Toronto, the son of Paul Henry and Gertrude Lucille (Ward) Lawrence. He was raised around Greenwood County, graduating from Tonovay High School. After his schooling, he served in the United States Army National Guard with honor and dignity. He was honorably discharged in 1962.
Thelbert M. Trimmell, 88, passed away peacefully at home with family on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Bert, as he was known by many, was born in rural Greenwood County on February 8, 1935, to Luther “Big Boy” and Thelma (Ware) Trimmell. Bert often jokingly claimed he was born on a snowplow enroute to the hospital. He was raised on a farm/ranch near Coyville, and graduated from Coyville High School in 1952. He and his three brothers often rode horses to school and were known for having some of the finest horseflesh in the area. In high school he played on the basketball team, which led to a lifelong love of basketball, baseball, football, and other sports, both as a participant and fan. Coyville High is also where he met his future wife, Marilyn Haun. They were married on October 1, 1955, and started a family soon after with daughters Janice, Brenda, and son Ron.
Harry James Nordmeyer of Toronto, died on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at his home near Toronto, at the age of 81.
Rodney Dale Walker, 67, of Thayer passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Rodney was born on October 31, 1955. Rodney is survived by his wife of 43 years Terri Walker, sister Laveta Fickel and four boys he helped raise: Kolt Ostenowski, Jeff Carney, Mark Hunington and John Johnson (his boys). Rodney worked for the USDA-IES as a Senior Investigator for 28 years. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in 2015. Rodney was a calf roper and team roper and loved to rope and ride his horses. If you knew him, you knew what a great guy he was. He will be missed by many.
Milton Daniel Mock, Sr. of Eureka, died on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center, in Wichita, at the age of 77.
Evelyn Joan Walford, a beloved member of the community and a loving mother, passed away on October 14, 2023. She was born on July 10, 1933, in Eureka, Kansas, to her proud parents, Clinton and Cathrine Barrier. Evelyn's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to family, her strong work ethic, and her generous spirit.
