Royalty To Be Crowned After Friday Night Football Game

The West Elk Patriots will kick off the 2023 Fall Homecoming celebration with a bonfire in the south parking lot on Thursday, September 28, at 8 p.m. Community members are welcome to come and show their school spirit. On Friday, September 29, at 3 p.m., the homecoming parade will take place on Wabash in front of Family Market. The West Elk Booster Club will begin serving its annual Tailgate Supper at 5:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., the West Elk Patriot football team will host the Mustangs of Flinthills. Greenwood County Appointee Sheila Koup, and Sue York of Fall River Public Library were among the 90 members of the Southeast Kansas Library System (SEKLS) who attended the Fall In-Service and Revenue Neutral Rate Hearing held August 25 at the Bowlus Fine Arts Center, in Iola. Wulf Roby, Communications Coordinator for the State Library of Kansas, presented as keynote speaker. They shared information about how libraries statewide can best share their stories and market their services and programs.
