This Saturday, November 11, marks the 19th anniversary of the annual Eureka Craft Show. The event began in 2004 with friends Charlene Baker and Joy Broyles starting the Eureka Arts & Crafts Show and brought business and people to Eureka for the annual event.
Received Update On Bathroom Facilities At Lion’s Park
Eureka Fire Department was one of 78 departments in Kansas that were awarded funding through the Kansas Firefighter Recruitment and Safety Grant (KSFRSG) Program administered by the Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM). Eureka Fire Department was awarded $6,226 to be used for the purchase of personal protective equipment.
A local cowboy was inducted into the Kansas Cowboy Hall of Fame as the Working Cowboy Inductee during the special induction ceremony on Saturday, November 4.
Greenwood County Commissioners officially selected an individual to fill the position of Road Superintendent on Monday, November 6. Employee John Schouten, who has been serving in the role in an interim capacity, was approved to fill the position. Employee Allen Greenwood will now serve as Road and Bridge Foreman. Commissioners approved the two employments, moving Greenwood’s hourly wage to $20 an hour and Schouten’s to $24. Evaluations will be held in December.
