The Kansas Department of Transportation and the Drive To Zero Coalition completed the first year of the five-year Safety Corridor Pilot Program. The program aims to decrease fatalities and serious injuries on four highway corridors by implementing proven safety countermeasures, such as increasing the presence of state and local law enforcement.
The East Central Kansas Model T (ECKMT) Club meets on the second Thursday of the month. The ECKMT’s will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12 in the conference room of the Burlington Library. This Thursday, Aug. 29, in conjunction with the Eureka Junior/Senior High School water and sports drink scrimmages, State Farm Insurance – JJ Edwards will partner with Safe Kids Kansas and Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) for a safety message. Staff members will be on the west side of McGinnis Field beginning at 4:30 p.m., as patrons make their way to the scrimmages.
