Angelo Turner

Angelo Vince Turner of Eureka, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, as the result of an automobile accident in Coffey County, at the age of 51.

He was born February 28, 1972, in Independence, the son of Larry Mike and Maria Louisa (Castilo) Turner. He was raised in Wichita and attended local schools. Following graduation, he worked for UPS for 17 years, then attended Flint Hills Technical College where he earned an associate degree in nursing and was working on a bachelor’s degree in nursing through Rasmussen University.

He will be remembered for his dedication to his family. His family was his whole life, and he was a devoted father and husband. Angelo was always in a good mood. He had a great sense of humor, the best smile, and he loved to grill. He had twenty grills and needed every one. He also was a football and soccer coach. He passed on to his children that it was never too late to better yourself or your life.

On October 11, 2008, Angelo was united in marriage to Kerri Michele McCall. They settled in Eureka where they raised their family. Although they were only married in 2008, they had been devoted partners since 1991.

He is survived by his wife, Kerri of the home; 12 children: Gaige Austin Turner, Jordan Nikole Turner, Ariel Dominique Turner, Elijah Blaike Turner, Chaise Noah Turner, Laikyn Skye Turner, Jacobi Joshua Turner, and Xander Rhys Turner all of Eureka; Antonio Turner, Brittany Kitt, Isaiah Turner, Elicia Turner all of Wichita; and step-daughter, Ashli Enders of Wichita; his parents, Larry M. and wife, Peggy Turner of Wichita; and Maria L. and husband, Leslie Young of Skiatook, Okla.; two grandchildren: Rylan Ameliah Turner, and Sebastian Kai Bailey; two siblings: Angeno Valdez Turner of Wichita; and Marissa Nicole Saunders of Skiatook, Okla.; step-brother, Leslie D. Young, Jr. of Longmont, Colo.; step-sister, Lavetha J. Young of Tulsa, Okla.; his life-long friend, Robert Shonk; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 23, at Koup Family Funeral Home, in Eureka with Jon Petty of the Toronto Cowboy Church officiating. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka. Visitation hours were from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to EJSHS (Angelo Turner’s “TooTurnt Tuition” Scholarship).
