Jim Beitz
Jim Beitz
Born on July 9, 1938, in Eureka, Jim was the son of Sven and Mabel (Olson) Beitz. He was raised in the Climax area and graduated from Climax High School. After high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard. On Nov. 14, 1961, Jim married the love of his life, Barbara Mae Bitler, in Eureka. They built a loving home together, raising three children. Jim dedicated his career to skilled trades, working as a mechanic in Climax and later as a sheet metal worker and millwright at Midwest Mill for over four decades. Jim possessed a strong will, a trait that served him well throughout his life. However, beneath that strong exterior resided a kind and gentle spirit.
He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He enjoyed the quiet satisfaction of tending to his farm and shared many happy memories with Barb at casinos across the region. Following the passing of his beloved wife, Barbara, on Feb. 20, 2022, Jim continued to find solace in his work and his hobbies.
Jim was a dedicated member of the Pleasant View Cemetery Board, primarily as treasurer, reflecting his commitment to his community.
He is survived by his children: Inga Klahr of Wetmore; Tracy and wife, Melissa Beitz of Eureka; and Jason and wife, Tara Beitz of Eureka; and three grandchildren: Trevor Klahr, Kendall Beitz, and Kolby Beitz. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sonin- law, Darrek Klahr; one grandson, Garrett Klahr; brother, John Christian Beitz; and infant sister, Gurina Beitz.
