He was born Oct. 16, 1948 in Emporia, the son of Thomas and Leota Scales Albert. He attended Virgil High School until it closed in 1965. He finished his education at Hamilton High School and graduate with the Class of 1966.

He spent the majority of his younger years working in the oil fields of the surrounding. He spent time on rotary drilling rigs and pulling units eventually taking a job with Texaco conducting maintenance of the pipeline to El Dorado. For the past 30 years, he worked with his son operating the Dunaway Cattle Company.

He was united in marriage to Cynthia Hess in 1971. They later divorced.

He is survived by his daughters, Amy McClelland and husband Jason of Madison, Megan Broyles (Stephen Dawson) of Emporia; son, Jason Albert and wife Danielle of Madison; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Lamont Wesleyan Church. Burial followed services at Number 8 Cemetery.
