Jerry D. Hall
Jerry D. Hall
Raised on the family farm, Jerry developed a passion for cattle ranching at a young age, honing his skills and raising Polled Hereford Bulls to fund his college education. His dedication led him to achieve a master’s degree, after which he taught vocational agriculture in Howard and Severy, later becoming a principal.
In addition to his teaching career, he wore many hats. He owned and operated Jerry Hall’s Communications, which proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. He also owned and operated Lazy J Oil and Gas Company for several years. His adventurous spirit also saw him become a licensed pilot.
On Sept. 13, 1959, Jerry married the love of his life, Phyllis Myers, with whom he celebrated 65 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they were members of the Buxton Christian Church for the past 31 years.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis; two children, Steve Hall of Fredonia and Deann Sites and her husband Dalen of Mohave Valley, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Taylor Hall, Jeffrey Rowell, and D’adra Salley; and one great-grandchild Sturgill Salley. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation has been requested, and a graveside memorial service was held on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Altoona City Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Gene Benefiel. The family invited friends to join them afterward at their home to share stories and memories.
