Rosalie was born on a farm west of Hamilton, on Aug. 24, 1931. She was the oldest of six children born to her parents, Jay and Millie Hollis. At the age of six months, she moved with her family to a farm in Gove County. The family later returned to Greenwood County when that farm was devastated by the dust bowl.

Jayme A. Koup, 70, of Eureka, died Monday June 17, 2024. Arrangements are pending with Koup Family Funeral Home. A full obituary will be included in a future edition.

Minnie Jo Northedge of Eureka, died on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Greenwood County Hospital in Eureka, at the age of 85. She was born on March 10, 1939, in Chautauqua County, the daughter of Joseph Isaac and Minnie Belle (Tannahill) Dye. She was raised in Sedan and graduated from Sedan High School with the Class of 1957. On August 16, 1960, Minnie Jo was united in marriage to Kenneth Allen Northedge in Eureka. They made their home in Eureka. Minnie Jo was a nurse’s aide for Greenwood County Hospital for over thirty years.

Clare A. Platt, a cherished husband, father, grandfather and brother, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, in Kansas City, Kan., at the age of 85. Born on Aug. 12, 1938, in Toronto, Clare was known for his quick wit, thoughtful nature, and selfless demeanor. Throughout his life, Clare dedicated 55 years of service to the Janesville Township, where he expertly operated a variety of heavy machinery, including dump trucks and road graders. His commitment to his work was surpassed only by his dedication as the Caretaker of the Janesville Cemetery, a role he performed with honor and diligence right up to his final days.

John Alfred Gulick of Eureka, passed away in his home at Tonovay, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the age of 84. He was born Sept. 26, 1939, in Muskogee, Okla., the son of Francis Henry and Ruby L. (Norwood) Gulick. As a child, the family moved several times before settling in Eureka. John completed 7th grade and started 8th grade, saying, “I went in the front door and out the back.” He then began driving a truck and working in the oilfields. Eventually, he went to work driving for Maclaskey Oil, until he met his beloved Mary. On June 20, 1959, John was united in marriage to Mary Ann Altis, in Concordia. Together they raised their five children, continuing to work until John was able to purchase his own truck, and he and Mary began John’s Trucking. They continued to run the business until he retired.

Linda J. Boone passed away quietly on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the Eureka Nursing Center after a prolonged illness. Linda was born July 4, 1945, in Wichita, Kansas to Roscoe and Neva (Lindamood) Boone. Linda was the oldest of four children in the Boone family and was the quintessential big sister to brothers Ron, Richard, and Doug. Linda attended public schools in Wichita and graduated from Kansas University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She later obtained a Master of Arts degree from the University of Colorado. At KU, Linda was a proud member of Phi Beta Phi sorority, and many of her sorority sisters were lifelong friends.

Rebecca Dee (Henderson) Lindamood, 75, of Quincy, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, surrounded by her family at the Lindamood Ranch in Quincy. Becky was born on May 10, 1949, in Eureka, the daughter of Lonnie and Rosaline “Rosie” (Boone) Henderson. She was the oldest of four children. She attended school in Neal, Virgil, Hamilton and graduated high school in Eureka.

Harold Louis Hosler of Eureka, died on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Eureka Nursing Center in Eureka, at the age of 95.

Shirley (Crismas) Wunderlich, 91, of rural Piedmont, died on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Eureka Nursing Center, in Eureka.
