It’s Kansas Day! Happy 163rd birthday to our favorite state! We are lucky enough to live in the 5th largest county in the beautiful state of Kansas – and these are the 5 things you should know that You Are Here Agriculture Education teaches us about Greenwood County: 5. GW County is the 5th largest in Kansas 4. Only 4% of the Tallgrass Prairie remains in the world, and the majority of that is in the Flint Hills of Kansas.
3. Only 2-3% of the population of our country works in agriculture. That’s a small number of people that are feeding us!
2. Cattle outnumber people 2-to-1 in the State of Kansas.
