The West Elk Patriots hosted Argonia last Friday night, Jan. 12, where the Patriots claimed both wins over the Raiders.
West Elk Lady Patriots won the game 44-24. The following stats were shared: Briea McGee: 10 points, 3 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 blocks, 2 assists; Nevaeh Tillapaugh: 9 points, 2 rebounds, 2 steals, 3 blocks, 3 assists; Kodi Harshman: 8 Points (2/3 from the 3 point line), 2 steals: Jaicey Tillapaugh: 4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals, 5 assists; Makaila Gillespie: 7 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, 4 blocks, 1 assist; Josey Toon: 2 points, 2 assists; Kylie Beougher: 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 steal; and Ava Denton: 2 points.
The Patriot boys outscored Argonia in all four quarters to win the game 50-35. In the opening quarter, four Patriots tallied 16 points to lead 16-9 going into the second. West Elk again had four players make baskets in the second and increased their lead to 30-14 at halftime. Three Patriots added a total of 20 points in the second half to secure the win, 50-35. Scoring for the Patriots were Martin Shipley 17, Maddox Moreno 16, Garett Usry 9, Uriah Tillapaugh 7 and Peyton Fechter 1.
The Patriots were slated to travel to Argonia on Monday of this week before traveling to Remington on Jan. 23, to take on the Broncos, both were slated to begin at 6 p.m.
