Purchased Coyote 93.9FM

As 2023 concluded, Eureka’s Steve Brown found himself closing his term of ownership of the local radio station. Brown purchased the radio station in April 2018 and continued the country music station for Eureka and the surrounding area. But, as 2024 began, listeners learned that the station had sold to Steckline Communications. The acquisition of Coyote 93.9FM gave the Stecklines their 14th radio station in the state of Kansas.

Greg Steckline purchased his first radio station in Nebraska in the early 2000s, but, by May 2005 he had sold his stations in Nebraska and moved to Kansas where he partnered with his father, Larry. Since then, G. Steckline has taken over ownership of the broadcasting company. His father still broadcasts for the Mid America Agricultural Network (MAAN), which he began in 1977. The MAAN provides agricultural and market reports, state and regional news, sports and programming to stations in the seven state region.

The purchase of Coyote 93.9FM went rather quickly, with Brown and Steckline Communications still working on the crossover. G. Steckline believes the equipment will be switched over by mid-January. “The station fits our company, as it resides in a really good agriculture area,” stated G. Steckline. Coyote 93.9FM will remain a country station; however, G. Steckline plans to add 1990s and 2000s hits to the mix.

It was noted that Steckline Communications is currently looking for a station manager for Coyote 93.9FM.

G. Steckline and his wife Becky, a second grade teacher at Apollo Elementary School in Goddard, reside in Garden Plain, where they also farm and ranch.
